VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR: Frank Kogen
Congratulations to Atlas member Frank Kogen who received Boulder County AIDS Project‘s 2017 Don Holloway Volunteer of the Year at the 2017 Local Legends Gala at the Boulder Jewish Community Center!
Frank is the sixth Atlas member to receive this prestigious recognition!
Frank is a long-term HIV survivor who was an active member and supporter of ActUp, GMHC, AmFar, and APLA during the AIDS crisis of the ’80s and ’90s.
After attending Tulane University and a whirlwind colorful storied life in major cities on both coasts, Frank settled in Boulder County where BCAP became his first contact in the community.
The mutual attraction was instantaneous and Frank has since become an extremely active volunteer deeply committed to supporting his fellow HIV survivors and working hard to eliminate future infections through the Atlas prevention program at BCAP.
When not overwhelming BCAP staff with his enthusiasm, Frank teaches at CU and enjoys his Akitas Judy and Jessica and his life partner, Cacy.
