The first Atlas meeting of 2018 was a great success as current and new members gathered to catch up, meet new faces, and help plan an array of exciting program activities for the New Year!
The meeting kicked-off with an introductory presentation led by Atlas Program Director, Frank O’Caña, and new Atlas Program Coordinator, Garrett Rose. Together, they announced upcoming “save the dates” including BCAP’s Volunteer Training on March 3 and Big Top: A Springtime Circus Extravaganza on April 21. They also presented Atlas highlights from last year, the importance of the program, and talked about its mission to build a future where HIV transmission is rare.
Atlas members broke into small teams and brainstormed over 20 different activity ideas, which everyone voted on at the end of the meeting.“PrEP Talk,” “Cooking Class,” and “Pet Meetup” were among the most popular suggestions! Atlas activities are combined with program announcements, education, and resources.
Atlas has another fabulous and fun year in store for our awesome members and volunteers! To learn how you can become involved with Atlas, please contact Garrett Rose at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 303-444-6121.
